According to the Jewish Encyclopedia entry on the Maccabees, the Maccabees are not mentioned in Hebrew outside the books 1-4 Maccabees. However, it says they are mentioned under the family name “the Hasmoneans.”

I have several questions.
  1. Does anyone know if the mentions of the Hasmoneans in the Talmud or Midrash refer to the family’s righteous shedding of blood for the Law?
  2. Does anyone know where I can find the complete text in one single file of the Talmud or Midrash in English?
  3. Does anyone know a Jewish expert I can contact to ask this question if no one can answer the previous 2 questions?
