I’ve seen two different versions of this prayer, the only real difference being one is in plurality, the other isn’t. Can someone tell me which is the original?

I would assume that the version with “thee” and “thou” is the earlier version. I prefer the “you” and “your” version. Mary probably prefers that you pray it often, from the heart, in either version:)

When you say plurality, do you mean the part where one says, “to thee/you we come” or “to thee/you I come?” Considering it is attributed to a particular saint, I’d guess the “to you I come” version would be the original. The context in which it is said is really what matters, I would think. If you’re alone, saying, “to thee/you we come” makes little sense unless you’re speaking in the Royal We. 😉

I figured it was prayed in singularity orginally, but I like remembering others in my prayers, as well. So thanks!
