I am looking for a critic of my newest page on my site at
catholic-rcia.com.The more the better! It is titled the Apsotacy and is a Mormon Prophets writing about the fall of our church. On the main page go to the Utah Mission link. From that page there are two links to “Apostacy”
Let me know if you think this has possibility.

Thanks

You almost make it sound like it’s anti-catholic. I’ll check it out when I have a chance.

Theophilus,

There was never an apostacy in the Catholic Church, Christ’s body. Scripture only says ‘some’ would leave His body (i.e. protestants, etc) but not ALL.

I would say that the lack of an LDS (Mormon) church for 1,800 years is very good evidance that it is in fact the LDS church that is in apostacy? Just old farm logic used here.

By the way, the LDS church is on its third name now too.

A priosoner of Christ

Hello Catholic rcia,

I cruzed around your site. It is very organized with many links. I like that. I have to read more to digest the content.

Some of the links on the right did not work for me. I read in one spot where you used the term “unconditional love”. I know some Catholics use this term but it is not a biblical term. The problem is that many atheists, agnostics and non-chuch goers interpert the term as “Due to God’s ‘unconditional love’ he will not send me or anyone to hell”. So they see no reason to seek out God and in fact they intentionally try to stay ignorant of God’s will. God loves us tremendously but some people will go to hell.

I am always amaized that the Mormons can claim that Jesus sent out the Holy Spirit upon the world at His ressurection and it completly failed until the 1800’s when it poped up and had Joseph Smith to start Christ’s true church.

Mark Twain once said, “The book of Mormon is the best peice of plagerism I have ever read.” The book of Mormon’s “propheses”, supposedly written 200 years before the birth of Christ, are exact KJV duplicates. No Old Testament propheses work like that. They are more vague.

Keep praising the Lord.

Peace in Christ,
Steven Merten

Your site, as an entirety, is teriffic. It is on my favorites list and I’ll be spending much time there. Thank you

I like your site also…especially the very charitable tone that you use in your writing. I will be having a previously Catholic & now-Mormon family member visiting me next week, so I’m hoping to get a chance to peruse your site at greater length.

Quick question? Are the Book of Mormon & the other writings the LDS consider scriptural or important available online in their entirety? I would really like to get a better idea of the writings themselves, not just others’ comments about them.

Thanks, Jennifer

Yes they are. I’d recommend caution when reading them. LDS Gospel Library
That’s if you’re looking for the latest version of the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, as well as their recent magazines and teaching manuals. Their old works are a lot harder to find and they don’t make available.

I often ask them to tell me exactly what date the church became apostate and the circumstances and individuals involved. In other words to be specific. They make a claim, so make them prove it. Make them give you a specific date and event that made the church apostate. Don’t let them evade. If they can’t do it then you can point out the real historical facts that they probably don’t know.
