What a terrible way to scheme the colors, it is often hard to tell what is what because the colors are all just on a scale of blue. Anyway, I’m not surprise my State ¶ is on the upper end, after all my city has a high percentage of Catholics.

Louisiana, Massachucetts, New York, New Jerzy, Penslyvania, Conneticut, Rohd Island are all 50 +%
Are you sure? The way I’m reading the (definitely confusing) color scale, Rhode Island is the only one that is over 50%. The other states you mention are all part of the “30 - 49.99%” group (as is Illinois, Wisconsin and New Mexico).

We should note also that these stats are 20 years old. Demographics have shifted since then. For example, the map from 1990 in the OP shows Colorado in the 10-14.99% range, but Wikipedia currently lists the percentage of Catholics at 19%.

Go here for a more up-to-date map and select “Catholic Tradition” from the drop down menu. 🙂

Is there a per country list?

In South East Asia, the Philippines and East Timor (formerly part of Indonesia) are mostly Catholic.

I’m not surprised Oregon is so low… A lot of people here don’t have ANY religion…except for the religion of self.😦

i think ALL the maps are useless…

until we define the word Catholic… 😦

i wish there was a map that showed where the most practicing Catholics lived…

but i guess they aren’t totally useless… at least the Catholics who aren’t really Catholic… have apparently not gotten so out of touch with the Church that thye call themselves something other than that… 🤷

so true…

OR is the state where the least # of people attend Church…

hey… i have an idea on how to make big bucks…

go to OR and establishe the First Church of Self…

you’d make a killing… 😃

(oh, i see you already live in OR… well, you will have that much fewer start-up costs… :))

All I have to do is throw in the “health and welfare gospel” and I’m in…👍

You know like “God wants you to drive a Mercedes”…

The most Catholic state is clearly …

the state of grace! 🙂

Followed closely by the state of ‘fear and trembling’ so familiar to St Paul 😛
