“Guadalupe” tries to capture the Guadalupan fervor of Mexico by exploring the miracle of Our Lady of Guadalupe and its impact on Mexican life. It is being released in the context of celebrations for the 475th anniversary of the apparitions to St. Juan Diego at Tepeyac."
All names of stars and director etc are spanish so maybe captions.

the ladies I heard making plans today to see the movie are fans of some of the stars who evidently are actors in popular novelas (Mexican soap operas). have not seen any review that speaks of whether or not the Virgen de Guadalupe portion of the story is accurate. It sounds more like a film about the influence of the apparition on the culture, than about the apparition and la Virgen herself.

I saw the trailer to this movie in The Nativity Story. I’ll probebly read a review or two before seeing it, but it looks good.
I’m surprise that it’s actually being played in my town. Usually we don’t get the smaller movies.

Am I the only one who has seen the movie?
I just saw it tonight and enjoyed both the soap opera story of a modern day family and the weaving of the “true” story of Juan Diego and the Lady of Guadalupe into the plot.
The movie was spoken in Spanish with English subtitles and at times was spoken in Aztec with both English and Spanish subtitles. It definitely held my interest. I would recommend it for all ages. Of course if a child doesn’t know Spanish and is not able to read the subtitles he would be lost. I don’t want to give away the modern day story line but it had a bit of the soap opera flavor of “Destinos” the Spanish soap that plays on Public TV for Spanish learners. The Juan Diego story line was true to any accounts I have read of the miracle.
