The name God knows you by

I have heard it said that God knows us by another name that only he knows. Does anyone know where this is in scripture?

The reason I ask is that I have heard that when Mary was called “full of grace” or “highly favored one”, this was the name that God knew her by.

I would like to use this, but would like to know where the other name theory comes from.

There is a passage in Rev 2:17 that’s similiar to what you are saying:‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’He who receives, and God who gives it to him; also, this is given to the one who overcomes; I take that to mean finally overcomes.

Don’t know if that’s what you are after.

At the Anunciation, didn’t the Angel Gabriel say, “…Fear not, Mary…you have found favor with God…” ?

So, then he addressed her by her earthly name, “Mary.”

“Hail full of grace,” this is a description; a condition; a state of being; a praise. It is not a “Name.” It could also mean a title similar to Blessed Mother. I do not think it is a name.

It was John Paul II who commented that when the Angel, said “Hail, Full of Grace” or “Hail, Most Highly Favored One”, to God, that was her name.
