The above Protestant vs. RC discussion aside–I want to reiterate given the incredibly destructive nature of LGBT ideologies being advocated vigorously among the youngest and most vulnerable in our nation (and nations throughout the world), there is great need for firm statements upholding the Biblical perspective on this issue like the Nashville Statement. I have assisted with a Christian school statement on this matter and I can say that the ability of Christian schools to even function as Christian schools with Christian standards more and more depends on clear, explicit and direct statements addressing the the LGBT ideology. I think churches in America should be no less explicit, direct and open in addressing this eternal life and death matter (and the reasons for Christian schools creating these statements is becoming more and more the reason for churches themselves to create and adopt these statements).
