The NRSV of Canada?

I just recently found out that the Catholic Churches of Canada had adopted the New Revised Standard Version as the liturgical Bible simply because they had already created books that used the translation.

Unlike the United States, that actually use a Catholic Bible, when will Canadian Catholic Bishops choose a more faithful bible, such as the RSV-CE or even a DRV? I’m all up for those two translations, and it will not be likely that I will buy myself a NRSV.

I want a Bible that matches the one of the Canadian liturgy, which I can memorise passages from, and enjoy in reading and preaching…

I really do hope that they will change it soon enough; I am still excited over the new revision for the Novus Ordo!

Any other Canadian Catholics concerned over this? :S

I’ve heard that the NRSV is going to be used in England instead of the Jerusalem when the revision of lthe liturgy is finalised.
What’s wrong with the NRSV?

My only problems is that it has alot of gender-inclusive language, and that it is a Protestant translation, and if it is used for the liturgy, then why isn’t the NRSV being distributed instead of this NAB here in Canada?

These are my main concerns with it, otherwise, I would be happy to adopt a pocket version of the bible if it was endorsed and highly approved.
