From an earlier thread about another matter. This is about the “principle” that small sins lead to bigger sins. They DO.

**You’re saying in effect that if someone has committed what you’d class as an immoral act, then he or she would be more likely to abuse a child. **

Actually, that is what Christianity teaches (though the Church does NOT assert that just because you commit THIS or THAT particular sin, that you are more likely to commit child molesting, or murder, (no), but rather that Sin has it’s own “inner dynamic” and by deliberately committing sin, you weaken your ability to resist more-serious sins, and if you give into those, then more serious sins than those, and so on, until one is caught in a vortex of serious sins from which it is difficult, very sometimes, to extricate one’s self.

As for anything being merely
“what we would classify as an immoral act,” that is a false statement.
“WE” do not classify anything as immoral,
GOD does,
and has the right to,
and He does NOT change his views on inherently-immoral deeds,
ever,
and they will remain forever forbidden.
He might tolerate what He doesn’t approve of, for a while,
but eventually He will act, and no one will be able to resist when He does,
to put an end to it.

As for all our hollering about our Self-Asserted “Rights” to do what he forbids,
God laughs at us, in derision, mocking us with all our street demonstrations and placards, with us screaming about our alleged “right” to commit sin(s). And He is, so to speak, **writing down **every word,
every syllable, every jot and tittle of **every last thing we have ever said or done **in
support of practicing any sins. Christ made that very clear, that on the day of judgment,
we will give an accounting for every last word that we have ever spoken, even “idle” words.
Every word, every letter of a word. Moreover, on that day, unless we have repented of them and confessed them, every last one of our sins, even those that are most personal and embarassing that we want to keep hidden for self-images’s sake, will be
publicly revealed, by God, to all people including all of our family members and friends and enemies, to every last person who has ever lived on this earth, without exception. There is nothing hidden that will not be made publicly known. If we repent and confess our bad deeds and abandon them, then what was “hidden” has ALREADY been made “manifest,” in confession, and repented-of, and He will cover them with the blood and never mention them again. But **if we don’t **repent, then every last sheet of our “dirty laundry” will be publicly aired to all people who have ever lived, without exception. ( we often forget that little part of Christ’s teachings ).

“We,” the church, do not dare subjectively decide “what” is immoral.
“We” have received this from Jesus Christ, God incarnate,
and “we” have no right to change it.
And all human beings whatsoever have a solemn obligation,
under God,
to obey what God has decreed, and subjective reasons for disobeying
(( it is my right to do what I want with my own body, etc etc etc ))
will not fly with God when all of us do, and all of us will,
meet Him face to face, not only on the day of Judgement,
but immediately upon the departure of our souls from our bodies at the moment of our deaths.
Regardless of what Society’s laws may tolerate or even declare “rights” and “good.”

But the church’s teachings on what is a sin and what is not,
are not “subjective” “opinions”, they are merely faithfully proclaiming what
the Holy Spirit has taught for 2000 years, and which, to deny,
if that denial is persisted-in, can possibly make one eventually guilty
of the eternally-unforgivable “blasphemy” against “the Holy Spirit.”
No other sin, not even sexual sins, not even murder, none, are unforgivable (provided that the offender repents).
**Only ** that one is: unrepentantly calling what is evil, GOOD, and
calling what is GOOD, "evil, and really meaning it.

And that very thing is happening on a **grand scale **in the United States and other “western” democracies today, and sickeningly, Catholics by the millions
are VOTING FOR the men and women who are doing these very things,
and voting for them knowingly and deliberately.
This really amounts to apostasy, and it is,
and the holy Apostle, by the Holy Spirit, prophesied that this very same
great apostasy would take place at the end of the church-era,
and that this ver same Great apostasy is a sure-sign of the extreme nearness of the Lord’s coming in flaming fire to judge humankind.

That is why we must strive, with God’s help, to avoid ALL sin, not just the “big” sins like sexual immorality, major thefts, robberies, murder, etc, but the smaller sins too,
because again, sin has an inner, downward dynamic. The more one indulges sin,
the easier it becomes to commit the bigger ones. As Christ put it,
“He who is Unfaithful in what is LEAST, is also unfaithful in what is MUCH.”

Hey, Jaypeeto4.

I don’t have anything to add; just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this. It was very thoughtful and, based on my own experience, very true. God bless.
