Never seen the original film, but a really minimilist teaser trailer has released for a remake. They plan to release it on 6-6-06.

See the original beore the remake. It’s a classic.

I am a horror movie nut, so I have seen the original. It was, if I remember correctly, pretty good. At the time that I saw it, I was much younger and it badly frightened me. YOu might find it corny by today’s standards though.I can’t get your trailer to work.:crying:

The original movie still freaks me out. So I do not care to see the new version.

Enough remakes! Leave the classics alone!

The music by Jerry Goldsmith (in the original films) is fantastic! Especially The Final Conflict , which has some absolutely gorgeous music for Christ’s victory over Damien Thorn (Sam Neill). Sounds similar to Goldsmith’s Star Trek: The Motion Picture , which was also around the same time.

Another remake! When will they run out of movies to do over? Can’t Hollywood do anything original?

Why a remake? The original was silly enough.

If ever you do watch it, have a Bible in your hand so that when the actors quote from scripture you can see that for the most part the film writers are making it up and haven’t bothered with accuracy.

my goodness.

i write this post as a warning to all those who haven’t seen the omen remake and/or were planning to see it.

i’m thinking of going to the video store and demanding 2 hours of my life back.

my wife and i just kept looking at each other saying “is there an actual story or does this just go in a straight line from beginning to end… nope. straight line”

not one scary scene. not one scary premise. ending left nothing resolved. really, i’d rather have sat one the couch watching the fireplace for two hours straight. it’d be more fun to watch than this movie was.

sigh. mr hollywood, i want my night back.

what a coincidence… I just rented this movie and posted about it yestarday, too. I felt the same way! Usually anything remotely about Satan scares the heck out of me. I literally can’t watch. I was really afraid of watching this one, but thought I could face my fear and do it. Well, I watched every scene… without covering my eyes once… not one little ounce of spine-tingling fear! It was so boring!!! I think I know what was missing… the scary music that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I don’t remember hearing any really scary music, especially the churchy chanting kind of music that is always in these kinds of music. it seemed so quite. What a yawner! I think I’m going to watch the original!

The remake was a pathetic attempt to get out a movie for the date 666. It breaks no new ground, does nothing different for the most part, the score is nowhere as good as the original, the zoo scene is absymal compared to the original. Even though the original is somewhat dated in direction, it remains leaps and bounds beter than this horrible remake.

I didn’t think it was so bad. It updated some things, and included some references to recent events…

Granted, it wasn’t bloody/gory scary. But what was scary was the actual storyline, if you think about it, and think about what it all means. Where is your imagination?

I’m saddened that even our kids think that a movie isn’t scary if it doesn’t contain blood, gore, etc. They have nothing to leave to the imagination as the movies I grew up with.

The stories/movies that engage the brain rather than the senses, to me, are much scarier.

Just my :twocents:

I wasn’t looking for blood and gore… what I found lacking was the spine-tingling music that DOES leave it to your imagination but sets the tone. The suspense… the creepiness. I hate blood and guts.

I was able to immerse myself into the story, and found it rather scary with my imagination, without the music. I’ve been told that I do have a hyperactive imagination, so maybe that is the difference. 🙂

However, I did nearly jump off the couch when the rotweiller jumped into the scene out of nowhere!
