The computer game, not the actual one. Any of y’all play it? I have been playing MS Dos version of Oregon Trail Deluxe, and, because I am me, I found this, and, also because I am me, I found it funny.

The last time I played that game was in middle school in the early 90’s. Never did make it to Oregon. I either starved, drowned, got stampeded by Buffalo or died in one of the other 100 ways you could back then. But I was never killed by a bad pun. That must be only in the deluxe version.

In elementary school, the teacher used to play this while the students called out what we wanted them to do. In retrospect, the teacher probably just wanted to play the game, and have a day off, but we all loved it!

That is exactly it. I don’t know if you ever did this, but I know a lot of kids would name the characters after people they did not get along with. Generally, I named mine after family members. And, now that I am in my 30s, after Batman characters.

I named mine after people I did like so I could travel with them. Naming them after kids I didn’t like would’ve been smarter perhaps lol

I always play as a farmer, set meals to bare bones, and put the pace on grueling, and STILL arrive in Oregon with all players alive and in Good health.

I’m sick right now, and the thought occurred to me that I could have dysentery
