Is this book a legitimate Christian book?

I found this book at a garage sale very cheap. So I bought it to check it out. There are things in this book that make me Leary of it.
So I thought I’d ask in here. Has anyone every read this book and is it something I should keep. I’m thinking of throwing it away.
There are many bible stories but they are not like anything I have ever read before.
For instance,there’s stories of Jesus as a child. And he would “cast spells” on his playmates if they didn’t cooperate with whatever game he wanted to play.
There’s one story about how he caused a child to get leprosy and Mary made him heal the child.
And then there’s a story about how aliens came to mate with earthlings.
Is it trash or treasure?

None of the writings in the book are inspired but some of them are orthodox, containing nothing contrary to the faith. For instance, The Infancy Gospel of James (The Birth of Mary) and the letters of St. Augustine against the Manicheans should not be problematic. You might find the article on “Apocrypha” in the Catholic Encyclopedia helpful in separating the orthodox writings from the heterodox.
