When Christ gives a parable. When in the case of the Prodigal Son. The parable of the Prodigal makes his way from the parable to the real, the event. How so?

Intriguing? No? One might ask…😉

Here is the example I set before you, as a banquet hall seating guests at table… And is this!

The boy who thought his father dead to him. For it is with the inheritance he seeks, as when his father passes away. Asking for that inheritance before his father dies! His relationship is waning. It is fallen!

The father, without contest, places before his son, and gives him his inheritance.

The son leaves, and tries to find his way on his own. Making friends, among even the prostitutes.

His life and inheritance squandered. In time, he fades away into the places of sin and shadows. Wherefore, he finds himself among the swine. Corn husks, and all that is there to eat.

Upon this moment, he realizes death is imminent. For fear of death, being separated from his father, on his conscience and soul. An imperfect of contrition, he realizes his father’s land. His father’s stewards of his land! Even the servants are treated well! He makes haste on his way back home…

Making his way back home. Many of the servants recognize him. He tells his story, as many of them well know. In his journey, and struggle, and return. He becomes doubtful of his father’s love, his relationship. Bearing the pain of sin, the suffering, and loss of the sight of his father’s relationship.

But in time of great struggle he may return to the places he left. Wherefore the place of sin, he might return. Giving up! Falling prey to despair! The servants remind him he is his father’s son! Not to give up! Not to fall prey!

The son takes courage. And still makes his way to his father. But, with humility and shame, and doubt, as he makes this journey, he works in his father’s land, as one of the servants. Even unbeknown to his older brother, who could scarcely recognize him. In one instance, the Prodigal Son works serving at one of his brothers parties with guests. The Prodigal Son takes this pain of being unrecognized and unloved as a cross. Not turning back to sin, not falling into despair, never giving up courage and hope. He continues…

As he struggled, it was his first encounter coming back. That he encountered one of the servant girls in his father’s land. it was this first meeting. Making his way up the road leading to the fruited hills, land, and plain of his father’s sanctuary. Somebody noticed him coming up the road. Making it’s curious turns, around embankments, and corners. There was this girl who saw him! She heard the stories from elders. She heard of the boy who left his father’s vineyard.

As she noticed this man coming up the road. In all the tales relating. She could see him.

As he made his way up, this girl caught sight of him. Meeting him along the way.

He see’s her. His wretched appearance makes him want to turn way from her. For fear of all the ills and poisons of sin he fell into. Making him a detestable being. As he waves the girl away from him. She then recounts the tales she heard. Reminding him he is his father’s son.

Deep in his heart, this poisonous ill and stain of sin. He cannot fathom. And begins his descent turning back. But she would not allow him to do this. Nor would she relent in telling him he has a father. Thus, embarking not to forget he has a father. Not to sink back into the world of vice and sin. She helps him!..

This girls purity of heart, breaks him free from the chains and bondage of sins in the past. In causing him doubting in his father’s love, and relationship. Not only does this girl help him, but as well as the other servants in his father’s land. As they are treated even as his father’s own children. It is this, with Truth and Charity.

In time, as things proceed. He finally meets and see’s his father. Doubting though he taken back a few steps. The darkness that will not let go and let up. His father goes to him. Lifting his son up! Where his son falls to his knees, collapsing from the fear, from the doubt, and disbelief. Not being good enough being called a son. But it was this girl, and the servants that hope led him this far. And the father was taken to bring his son up into that hope fulfilled. Knowing his father’s love, undoubting.

Calling to the servants to gather new clothes, linen, sandals, a cloak, and ring on his son’s finger!

The servant girl smiles, watching all this happen! Her heart held a pure heart. A deep vision, a deep faith, and a deep hope!

She see’s the young man being cleaned up, made anew! Made whole again! She beckons, she wishes, and wants to marry him!..

The older son see’s this. Asks questions. Unbeknown to him that his brother was one of the servants who served at one of his parties, one of his own feasts and banquets.

Suddenly, as he take keen interest on what is going on. One of the servants tell him it is his brother. Who has returned! He then inquires, indignant before his father. As to why his brother, who left. And whilst, he the older brother, kept, maintained, and lived by his father’s side. Why does his brother, the sinner, the adulterer, why does he receive the fatted calf? Why was this feast kept from him, the older brother!?

The father hears his son’s indignation. And pleads, on his knees. Not to lose his older son too! To not let his older son think of him dead! Appealing to him, how short his father’s life is. That whence the father passes, what will be left? Between his son’s.

Inviting his son, to take joy! That his younger son was dead…but now he is come to life! The feast is not just for the younger… it is to be shared! The feast for the dinner guest, the older brother as well!

The older son finally subsides his indignation and protests. And follows obediently to his father’s will, which is love!

This then leads to the Mystery of the Banquet and Feast: The Wedding Feast of Cana.
