Do the eastern Catholic Bishops make use of “The Pedalion”?
The Rudder (Greek: Πηδάλιον) is a codification of Orthodox Canon law by St. Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain. It was first translated into English by D. Cummings, and published by the Orthodox Christian Educational Society in 1957 under the title of The Rudder.
Then the answer would be no for the Eastern Catholic Churches as we have our own code of canon law.
Possibly, but the CCEO covers all 5 Eastern Rites, and all 22 churches… so it’s actually rather vague… And byzantines are only 1 of the rites and 14 of the churches… (Including bothe the single largest and 5 smallest ECCs…)OKay, that’s all I wanted to know.
DO we know if the CHurch took this book into account when drafting canon law for the byzantine catholics?
