I wrote the following article to shed light on an issue that is little discussed and less cared about in our society, but as humans we all have an invested interested in the dignity and protection of the human person from conception to natural death, which is what gives any society the high moral ground in the world.
The Pill Kills
The Truth behind the birth control pill
It is a fact that the birth control pill kills newly conceived babies. When then are so many Christians and non-Christians, both married and unmarried, adopting such a course of behaviour, that is in direct opposition to Christian morality and the natural law?
According to the highly esteemed Physicians Desk Reference and the Guttmacher Institute (Planned Parenthood’s research branch) attest that the birth control pill works in three ways: 1. To inhibit ovulation 2. To inhibit conception 3. To Inhibit implantation (via altering the endometrium). One Dr. John Bruchalski explains in an article pertaining to this subject this scientific reality:
“While the predominant mechanism of action for the pill is the inhibition of ovulation, it also thickens the cervical mucus and can interrupt implantation of the early conceptus by altering the lining of the uterus. Such interruption is an abortion.”
At conception we are fully human. We possess from that first instant of our existence twenty-three pairs of human chromosomes, or our entire genetic makeup, and we are developing. Christian theology would add that at this momentous spark which signals the beginning of our existence, Almighty God personally creates and infuses into our being an immortal soul. The great ancient philosophers believed in the reality of the existence of the soul, and of an afterlife that was affected by one’s actions. This qualifies us from that exact moment as being fully human.
Many “common” contraceptive methods actually function on occasion as chemical abortafacients. These include: the pill, the intrauterine device, Norplant, Depo Provera, and the Morning after pill, or Plan B, (Which is just a more potent version of the birth control pill).
Christians and non-Christians alike must spread the truths about these abortafacient devices that are extinguishing millions of children annually. It is an interesting truth that in Nazi Germany abortion was permitted for Jews but not for native Germans. We have as varying cultures, with or without sufficient knowledge, efficiently liquidated a vast number of babies by using these contraceptive methods.
The pill kills-it is the hard truth. But it will remain a silent truth unless those who truly
Care about the children within the womb, as fellow humans and our brothers, listen, learn, speak, and act to save lives. One might ask who has faith in some form of afterlife…what happens to all these little human beings whose lives are extinguished prematurely in the womb. I for one believe they are in heaven, and people of all faiths, or those with none but who believe in the intrinsic dignity of the human person, can save so very many by just spreading the truths about the various abortafacients.
