Her mother had given her up for adoption 25 years ago. They told her her mother was dead but she didn’t believe this, and after some difficulty found her,. A visiting nurse, she cared for her mother for 9 years, but didn’t say who she was, afraid her hopelessly alcoholic mother would disrupt her own family. Finally, she told her mother who she was, but her mother was too far gone to comprehend. After this, her mother died.

Good grief, what a heart wrenching story. I loved it. The daughter who thought not of herself first but her mother. May they someday enjoy a joyful reunion in heaven.
