A friend of mine has been reading some quasi-Marxist books which analyze the contribution the Letters of Paul have had in the formation of political philosophy. Obviously, they focus on the “universalization” of the ethical dimension–“neither jew nor gentile, man nor woman, etc.”-- in the development of the concept of universal human rights.

I was wondering if anyone might have some perspectives and/or book recommendations along these lines from a more orthodox position.
