The Pope and Scrabble

I was just reading one of those websites that list a bunch of interesting facts, and on there it said that the Pope is the World’s Scrabble Champion in the Over 70’s category. Does anybody know anything else about this?

Have you ever heard of the Holy Father participating in a Scrabble tournament? He would have to participate to be declared the best player in his age category. If he had been in such a tournament, you would have seen pictures of it years ago, wouldn’t you?

Now I will have to keep that secret. My daughter would refuse to play Scrabble anymore if she knew Pope JPII was actually pretty good at it.

She just wanted to get the game because Freddie Mercury liked to play.

She cringes when I spell out anyreligious word. I used LENT once and she rolled her eyes. She believes I’m too Catholic.
