Yet another liberal mainline Protestant denomination openly apostasizes from the faith. Given this was mentioned in an Anglican context, another of the Episcopal Church’s ecumenical “partners” has embraced actively homosexual persons as clergy. Now it is up to local prebyteries to decide if they will approve this change in the denomination’s constitution.

I clicked on your link and it didn’t take me to the article. I got an explantion of RSS feeds. So I don’t have a good idea of exactly what you are refering to. But I do believe that to say “embrace” in regards to the PCUSA and gay clergy is wrong. The presbytery that my church belongs to actually responded by making it even harder for an active homosexual/lesbian to become an ordained minister or deacon. I also remember hearing another story of a women/lesbian being denied ordination recently by a presbytery because she aknowledged she doubted the instruction for clergy to be “celibate if not married”. The church as a whole has not embraced it. But I do believe we will see the church start to fracture.

I saw a news report where homosexual Presbyterian “pastors” wanted to get married but the PCUSA would not allow it…so guess what they did? They went next door and got “married” by an Episcopal pastor.
Protestantism, gotta love it.

Right…but as of June 30, when the General Assembly voted it allow it, it means the local Presbytery may decide to perform the ceremony.

It has nothing, however, to do with Protestantism, but rather, liberalism.

Not as a whole…(sorry about the broken link) every Presbytery may not accept it, however, the General Assembly has. So the denominational hierarchy has apostasized (not that they weren’t close to that prior). The mass exodus of conservative Presbyteries to the PCA and OPC will, I am sure, commence.
