I just saw this movie last night, and I have to say it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in quite a while. I’ll probebly be buying it sometime this week.
I highly recomend it. It has no cussing (from what I remember), very little violence, and no sexual situations. I still wouldn’t suggest kids watch it, purely for the fact that they probebly won’t understand it.

Spoiler…

There is adultery (very complicated adultery).
Actualy there wasn’t.

SPOILER! DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE STORY!

Bordon was faithful to his wife. It was his twin that was involved with Scarlett’s charactor. I was disapointed in Bordonat first because I as well thought he was having an affair, until he explained in the end that each brother loved one of the woman. He loved his wife, while his brother loved the assistant. It also made sense when Scarletts charactor tried kissing Bordon in one scene and he turns his head away. He didn’t want to be unfaithful to his wife. So, yeah, it makes you think there’s adultery involved, when in fact there wasn’t.

Which twin is Jess’ father? Which twin loved Sarah?

Edit - I guess this might not exacty be adultry.

The twin that lived at the end was Jess’s father and Sarah’s husband. I had to watch it a second time to figure that out. At the end when the twins are saying their goodbyes, as the one that is condemned is being led away he says to the other brother ‘I’m sorry about Sarah’.
It’s almost a movie you have to watch more than once to figure everything out.

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!

A man lays down his life for his brother –

isn’t this exactly what Christ instructed us to do? =) What a fantastic movie with great themes about love, compassion, envy and how it can ruin people, and how ultimately, we must all find the power to forgive and to love each other, lest our hatred and lust for power and fame destroy us.

I LOVED this movie! I had absolutely no idea that they were two different people.

Thats a really good point you made. It’s funny about the movie though, I was expecting something completely different when I sat down to watch it. The trailer was very misleading. But it was still far better than what I expected. It was such a great mystery.
It was also kind of fasinating to see what obsession can do to a person. It completely destroyed the charactors lives.

Did you follow the nick on the one twin’s eyebrow (the one that loved Olivia)? It is strongly implied that both were sexually involved with Sarah and that the twin that loved Olivia was Jess’ father.

I didn’t seen where it was implied that both were sleeping with Sarah.
In the scene where Sarah tells the one brother that she’s expecting, thats not her husband. But at the same time I don’t think that was his child. He says in that scene ‘we should have told Fallon’. He seemed exited by the news, but not in a ‘fatherly’ way. More in a brotherly way.
Both brothers loved Jess, that was very obvious. In the end when the one brother is talking to Hugh Jackmans charactor, he says ‘we both shared half of a full life’, and from what I gathered he meant his daughter. They both loved her like a father. But the surviving twin was the father.
I’m going to be reading the book, so I’m sure that’ll help clear up some of the more confusing angles.
