I have been praying the LOH for quite awhile now and I would love to study the Psalms and find a good explanation of who, when, etc… wrote the Psalms. I’m afraid of just choosing any book from Amazon for fear it may not be a good ‘Catholic’ example. Could any of you point me in the right direction? Thank you for any help received.

St. Augustine: Exposition of the Book of Psalms is wonderful…I know Amazon has it for Kindle, but it is a classic and should be easily available.

Peace and all Good!

More than anything, I would highly recommend the series of Papal Catecheses by Popes John Paull II and Benedict XVI on this very matter. They are excellent.

An online site organizing the links to the various audiences on the Vatican website:

Evening Prayer: catechesisofthepopes.wordpress.com/major-themes/vespers/audiences/

Morning Prayer: catechesisofthepopes.wordpress.com/major-themes/lauds/audiences/

A print edition of the audiences for Monring Prayer: amazon.com/Psalms-Canticles-Meditations-Catechesis-Morning/dp/1568545568

And a complete compilation of all the catecheses, but unfortunately, available in the UK and Ireland only: ctsbooks.org/morning-and-evening-prayer-meditations-and-catechesis/

Thank you all so very much! I am off to check out all those links!
