I’ve come across this a few times in life and thought that it really is a grave sin. Gas-lighting is essentially when you run a campaign to get someone to question their own reality. See attached video:
People who do this are manipulative and usually don’t care if they’re abusing another or committing a sin. It’s not something that people who are trying to live a good life just somehow fall into doing, like when you burst out in anger at someone.
