The Rosary - as October draws to a close

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Before October, the Month of the Holy Rosary, ends I want to share some excerpts from an article:

Pope Francis says the rosary, in many ways, is the “synthesis of the history of God’s mercy,” but that far from removing us from life’s problems it “demands that we immerse ourselves in the history of each day, so as to grasp the signs of Christ’s presence in our midst.” …the Pope asks us to “reflect on how God comes into our own lives, so as to be able to welcome him and follow him.” …“We are disciples, but also missionaries,” he reflected, “bringing Christ wherever he asks us to be present.”…The gift of his presence shouldn’t be kept to ourselves: “On the contrary, we are called to share with everyone his love, his tenderness, his goodness and his mercy.” (Full article HERE)

St. Padre Pio called the Rosary our best “weapon” in fighting our spiritual battles. This is true because if our prayer is humble, depending on God with childlike humility, firm faith, hope and above all love for God through and with Mary our Mother, we need not fear satan or his followers. Our trust cannot be in ourselves alone but rather as sons and daughters of Almighty God and our Mother Mary. Reflecting on the Mysteries of the Rosary, we “see” Mary as Mother and Model for the Church and learn how she shared in Christ’s Life. By His grace may we too receive Him and share Him with others, as Pope Francis points out. May we learn from the Rosary each day of our lives and pray the Rosary not only in October, but every day of the year.
