A great priest friend of mine recently told me that he was taught a very liberal form of Catholicism by the Rosminian Fathers when he was young. I don’t know what he means by this?

Are the Rosminians an orthodox and faithful order, or are they known for their liberalism and dissent?

If your friend was taught wrong by those priests, it probably just reflects errors on the part of those priests, not the order. They’re a real, good Catholic Order. Antonio Rosmini, the Order’s Founder, was beatified just last year.

There is a little controvery about Rosmini himself in that some of his works were reproved by the Holy Office–but he was not obstinant in his mistakes, but received the correction with humble obedience. That right there is a great model needed in our time!
