The Sarum rite is the liturgy of Catholic England. It was very similar to the Roman Rite (which is now known as the “Tridentine Rite”) but had many embellishments. More deacons, more incense, more ceremonies, just more of everything. In some ways, it had a more Byzantine character in the style of its prayers, which were more evocative and wordy (although a Solemn High Tridentine Mass easily rivals the Byzantines in ceremony).

The Anglican Book of Common Prayer, or the Catholic “Anglican Use” (for Anglican parishes that convert to Catholicism with their priests ordained by a Catholic bishop), are simplified versions of the old Sarum Rite. You should check out the “Book of Divine Worship” which contains the “Anglican Use” for the Roman Catholic Church.

I was told that the sarum rite is the way the mass was before the Reformation. But now done in english not litan
