This is a community made book. It doesn’t have to be the most amazing book in the world. Just add a small paragraph where i left off, and try to be as creative as possible (think weird, in the genre of fantasy, science fiction, and the paranormal)

The Sea Of Souls

“Open the door Sam” A voice seemed to echo from all directions. The room was dark, but strangely his body was perfectly illuminated. Sam could barely see the room accept for a faint glow emanating from an old wooden door in front of him. He walked towards the door, each step producing a crunching sound as if he was walking on toasted bread. Sam opened the door, and on the other side he was presented with nothingness. A black abyss starred at him. He looked down and saw more of the same. He walked forwards in the hope that floor was merely hidden and not simply gone. He was wrong. But he did not fall. To his surprise his body, starting with his feet, began to stretch downwards into the darkness until his head followed with it…

As he continued downward he now felt as if he were being pulled. Further down he went until he heard a voice calling him again. This time much more audible, with it came a shadow of a man, Sam recognized the voice and was sure the image in front of him was his father, As he reached out to him, Sam suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, 'not yet son, not yet Slowly Sam found himself back in hi bed, Was this a dream he asked himself, for it felt as though …

…it had actually happened. “If I ever find that door again,” Sam thought, “I’m going to put a lock on it. Someone could get lost in there!” Then came the faint sound of laughter, and the voice, as strong as before, said, “Don’t be silly! You can’t lock the doors of perception.” “Aldous Huxley?” Sam asked in amazement, “Is that you?” “Yes,” came the reply, “He’s here… with us.” Sam was more puzzled than ever. He rubbed his eyes, hoping to fully awaken from what must surely have been a dream, and one of the stranger dreams he’d ever had. When he opened his eyes, there was that door, just as it had been the first time. The urge to go back through seemed almost irresistible now, but what about that image of his father? What did it all mean? There was only one way to find out, so Sam threw caution to the wind, and…

…moved with the kind of determination that would rouse an entire nation into action. He opens the door. But this time there is no abyss. His eyes are greeted with a field of flowers, dressed with all the finest colours, meeting with a setting sun on the horizon, resting on a purple tinted sky. His nose was also greeted with the scent of something glorious. It provoked no memory of a past experience, which gave it an air of oddity. It was not a foul smell. One couldn’t even describe it as sweet. In fact it was indescribable. He had never smelt it before. “That’s odd” Sam thought, “a smell i have never smelt?” It seemed to hit him in waves, beckoning him, turning his head to the east, and there in the distance there was a small cottage…

As he drew closer feelings of recognition were stirring inside of him…’ I know this place’ and his memory of days past were pulling him. As he approached the door, it opened ever so slightly. Sam? Yes he replied to the gentle voice who called his name. As the door opened wider he could see the slight, fragile woman; gray whisp of hair coming from beneath her scarf.smiling at him.
‘Come, my dear, come in.’ The scent inside had the smell of fresh baked bread. A familiar smell, yet distanced in his memory .How far have you come, child?? She asked with a bit of concern…’’ Through the field of flowers and a sun glowing and dancing in the sky. Odd that I do not know of such a place, yet here, this cottage, is it a place from childhood days? His eyes turned toward the bedroom and there he saw an image beckoning him, he stepped back the woman was no longer, there…’ .
