One can assume the presence of the serpent at all times. Did he, however, offer a particularly attractive apple to Eve in our time?

I’m not sure I understand your question or what you’re getting at. Can you please elaborate?

The attractive part was calling God a liar and the allure of Power and knowledge mixed with a false logic (You surely will not die) And the serpent offers us this lie all the time…) Especially in the subject of sexual problems but in all areas as well.
From Birth Control to marriage, to homosexuality to missing Mass, the lie is the same, it always has been.

Gen 3 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not die; 5 for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate

The serpent told Eve that if she ate the apple she would “be like God, knowing good and evil” and the the tree was to be desired to “make one wise”.

I think Hoosier-Daddy provided a little elaboration on the point, as did the Emeraldlady. Thank you. The sernpent is a liar, so the apple is never what it seems to be and does not deliver on the promise. The wisdom gained contributes massively to the present-day distopia we seem to be enjoing.
