I am a non philosopher and so your source means zero to me.

ISTM that places can exist without immovable surfaces, although a body may not be able to remain in such a location.

A place can be determined by mathematical coordinates, Cartesian, cylindrical, spherical, take your pick šŸ™‚

No doubt, but, as much as I move around, I am not moving my place, I am moving from place to place. That’s what Aquinas and Aristotle meant by ā€œimmobile surface.ā€

Indeed it is, in the Aquinian sense of change, although not movement in the human or mechanical sense.

And that may be why we have a sense of time ā€œpassingā€. We certainly don’t move with it. What we sense is entropic change in our heads/bodies; even clocks are driven by entropic change.
GEddie:

Don’t ā€œthingsā€ undergo entropy? Or, are you considering entropy to be a thing? If Things are entropic, then, in that sense if none other, they are mobile. And, they are mobile in any sense that is not illogically restrictive.

We sense ourselves giving in to entropy. But, we understand it to be the action of corruption. God configures point particles in discrete space then reconfigures them such that they exhibit entropy. Ultimately it is He who causes it. Right?
