I believe it is real. Or I am at least cautiously optimistic. I have read much about the Shroud and do not know how the image could have gotten on the cloth unless it was transferred during the actual Resurrection. I am not saying I know how God accomplished the Resurrection because I don’t know at all!
As to the carbon dating, I believe there are many things that could have caused errors.
There are many other reasons I believe in the Shroud’s authenticity, but I won’t go into them now. They would necessitate a long post. My primary reason is the transfer of the image.
I see the Shroud as a miracle left to us by Christ. If it should be absolutely proven false, it wouldn’t affect my faith one bit.
