A prophecy that the Son of Man will for three days (like Jonah) be taken into the heart of the earth?

Cool. I thought, but…I didn’t want to say without being fer sure because someone else had asked me and I don’t want to say wrong things. I start RCIA tonight…so…hopefully I’ll be getting better at this

In this verse, is shown what is meant by “the sign of Jonah the prophet” which is given them, and how his condition, in what happened him, was a type of our Lord’s resurrection. As Jonah was a Jesus, or Savior to the Ninevites, so Jesus shall be a Jonah to the Jews.

That’s a whole different spin than I was used to.

A “Jonah to the Jews?” It seems to be an abstraction – that fits, up to a point. But, Jesus didn’t have the degree of success with the Jews that Jonah had with the Ninevites, no? or directly, in his lifetime, or after his lifetime and resurrection?

this gets into deep subjects that seem to require a lot of opinion and judgment.

Jesus ranks as the prophet ‘greater than Moses’ that was to come. I’ve read that Matthew’s gospel more directly does the comparison to Moses. Yeah, the three-day parts seem to fit the “sign” best, to me.
