Vocal minorities only become vocal when somebody sees a useful need for them.

Gay rights didn’t just happen. The women’s movement didn’t just happen. The LGBT movement didn’t just happen. Neither did the hippie movement, the anti-war movement, hip hop music, black lives matter or occupy Wall Street. They, and many other movements, are pushed along and given money and support by very shady, yet powerful actors, that use them to sow discord and disharmony.

There are forces out there that are shaping society to fit their evil schemes. None of what we are seeing or living through happened organically…
Add the liberal media to the mix and the “non-thinkers” are all on board.

Do you honestly believe that the USA is at risk of becoming communist?
Communism, maybe, but socialism is a distinct possibility.

We have an obscure, frumpy, old Socialist senator from a very small state giving Hillary fits right now, and if it weren’t for “superdelegates” would probably be beating her! Who would have figured that? And he is supported largely by the youth, so yes, I can see Socialism in our future.

The prophesy of the Birch Society cannot be dismissed so easily…

Nor is any of it a coincidence, I imagine all of this was planned out a long time ago and over the years and decades, small steps are slowly and methodically made to ensure a certain type of world.

Call it a conspiracy theory or whatever, but God himself told us is not flesh and blood we wrestle with in this world, Just like God has his ‘emissaries’ on earth, ID bet Satan does too, those power hungry people that believe siding with the enemy will gain them immense power in this world or the next.

What is the difference, in your opinion?

Sanders isn’t a socialist, and he really isn’t that radical. There have been politicians leading countries in Europe that were more left-wing than Sanders well before the John Birch society was making their prophecies in 1973. Sanders is a social democrat, not a socialist. Welfare, free university and weed is not socialism.

The slogan “If you don’t vote you don’t count” comes to mind.

From a 1973 speech

Everything he said is spot, spot, spot on!!!

You can see the speech here - youtube.com/watch?v=vwWJQ9PRFIs
Taxes are not higher, they are much lower. Look at taxes rates under Eisenhower. Even in 1974 they were much higher.

Anyone who buys into the nonsense the John Birch Society pushes might as well take down all the crucifixes in their houses and erect an alter to Mammon. If you vote Republican because you oppose abortion or some other social issue they pay lip service to so the Bishops can say we are required to vote for them no matter how much they destroy this country, I suppose I can accept that. But voting for this people, embracing their policies that run counter to everything Christ ever says would take a degree of cognitive dissonance that I can’t even understand.

You support Trump? Trump supports socialized healthcare and is a protectionist. He would be responsible for a lot of the things you imply are insidious with that John Birch Society “prophecy.” I’ve heard lots of right-libertarians accuse Trump of being a socialist. That’s ridiculous, of course, but chances are that he does meet your definition of a socialist.

Do you honestly believe that the USA is at risk of becoming communist?
I actually stopped coming to this forum often when I realized that Trump-supporters were coming out of the woodwork. But I shouldn’t have been surprised, given how much Trump’s values of ethnocentrism and “anti-establishment” rhetoric almost perfectly match many radical traditionalist Catholics. The folks at the Remnant, Rorate Caeli, etc. couldn’t have asked for a more ideal candidate unless he were an actual Catholic (of course, they hate all other Protestants, but they’re willing to make an exception for Trump).

I believe that communism is more extreme than socialism. Socialism allows for more freedom for its workers who share the wealth of what they produce, while in communism, everything goes to the state first and is then doled out as they see fit. Socialism can also coexist with other forms of government while communism is all encompassing, and it leaves no room for the individual.

I could go on, but suffice it to say, I think it is more onerous and heavy handed, it smothers all individuality. The state is everything.

Agreed, however Sanders is pretty radical for the freedom loving USA. Well, maybe we don’t love freedom as much as we used to!
