It the view of religion as a earthly way of getting through life and finding meaning in life but with no real meat to the religion that causes people to hijack a legitimate movement to help the poor. There is also a feeling by these groups that because they fighting a common enemy in poverty that there becomes a feeling of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. These two things come together to pervert the good work that many Catholics do in the name of social justice. Peace, justice and helping the poor are hollow cliches if you ignore the slaughter of babies in abortion.
