Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On this Good Friday, may we stand with our Sorrowful Mother and ponder with her God’s Great Love in sending His Son to suffer and die for us. As she stood with her eyes fixed on Him and united herself with Him – so by His Grace, let us give ourselves daily through Mary that we may give ourselves daily through Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit to our Father in Heaven:
Wounded with His every wound,
Steep my soul till it hath swooned
In His very blood away.

Be to me, O Virgin, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In His awful Judgment day.

O my Jesus, pardon us and save us from the fires of hell. Draw all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy. Mary, Mother and Model of the Church pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Dear Greenfields,

Thanks again for your “heart” – how very appropriate your “AMEN” is! The word “Amen” can be translated also as “Truly”.

Mary standing beneath the Cross of Jesus shows us: true prayer is nothing other than “union with God”.

Thanks Tad, for your “heart” and for your love of God and for our Mother which prompted it. May we stand with her, by God’s Grace, always with our eyes on Jesus!

Dear Vanitas Vanitatem,

Thanks for your “heart” as well as that of Greenfields and Tad, and the love of Jesus and Mary which prompts those who “like” to read about Mary when she is honored in some way. Today is Holy Saturday, and I just saw you had read this post. I’m about to post the final stanzas from the “Stabat Mater” this morning.

It has been a blessing for me to ponder this hymn. It also blessed me to ponder a few minutes ago the Readings for this evening’s Mass in particular the Reading which spoke to me especially about Mary from Baruch in the Old Testament. If I can I’ll try to share more on that reading later in another thread.
