This is open for a broad discussion on his method of praying the Rosary per the method of St. John Paul II. I do find this interesting.
3: He made the Rosary easier to pray.

My book outlines the practical suggestions St. John Paul makes for praying the Rosary.

One of my favorites: Instead of the Creed, he suggests opening the Rosary with a simple invocation from Psalm 70: “O God, come to my aid; O Lord make haste to help me.” We still say the Creed occasionally, but removing the long opening prayer makes the prayer a lot less daunting for my children — and for their dad, too.
I greatly empathize with this. Sometimes, saying those opening prayers while surely proper, I feel can seem to be a bit of labor to repeat. I know, we are often waiting just to get into the mysteries themselves.

The above quote is from this:

And another article on the method from Our Sunday Visitor:

I caught a discussion on Catholic Radio on this a few weeks ago and it took me mostly by surprise.

I’m more surprised to see this called St. John Paul’s method; religious orders have prayed the rosary this way for who-knows how long.

It probably has more to do with putting it in a book form to the public. I’m not even sure if St. JP II said this is his method. Maybe others did that but I do see it referred to in that manner.
