Did anyone watch the Stations of the Cross from the Vatican yesterday? What did you think of the presentation/format? Did you like the idea of prisoners writing a meditation for each station?

I can tell that you’re not from the U.S. because I read that date as October 4, 2020.

I watched it. I thought it was very nice. I thought the theme of prison was very appropriate given that all of Italy has pretty much been “on house arrest” for months. Also, Jesus was a prisoner and went through the justice process of his time, as shown in the first station.

I note that contrary to your first post, prisoners did not write a meditation for each station. Prisoners wrote only 5 of the meditations. The remaining 9 meditations were written by other people involved with the prison or the justice system. The complete list of who wrote what meditations is as follows:

|I| a prisoner serving a life sentence
|II| two parents whose daughter was murdered
|III| a prisoner
|IV| the mother of a prisoner
|V| a prisoner
|VI| a catechist
|VII| a prisoner
|VIII| the daughter of a man sentenced to life imprisonment
|IX| a prisoner
|X| a prison teacher
|XI| a priest accused and later acquitted
|XII| a civil magistrate
|XIII| a volunteer religious Brother
|XIV| a corrections officer
