He is most remembered by the Gospel story telling that he doubted that Jesus had just risen from death. Then afterwards Jesus came to show himself to him and spoke to him. Always full of faith after this, he went to India, where he was killed after converting many of the people there. Millions of people in India now are descended from the Indians he converted thousands of years ago.
 
I didn’t know what ever became of St. Thomas. Thanks for the information!
