Peace be with you!

Well, since this is finals week for most public universities, our campus minister for my Newman Club sent out this “Students’ Prayer” in his weekly e-mail.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not flunk:
He keepeth me from lying down when I should be studying.
He leadeth me beside the water cooler for a study break:
He restoreth my faith in study guides.
He leads me to better study habits
For my GPA’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of borderline grades,
I will not have a nervous breakdown:
For thou are with me.
My prayers and my friends, they comfort me.
Thou givest me answers in moments of blankness:
Thou anointest my head with understanding.
My test paper runneth over with questions I recognize.
Surely passing grades and flying colors shall follow me
All the days of my examinations.
And I shall not dwell in this university forever. (But Glenn will)
Amen!

(Glenn is our campus minister’s name.)

In Christ,
Rand

Before I take a test, I make the signum crucis and pray to Mary or a specific Saint not for special knowledge, but that I remember what I have learnt.

Prayer prior to a test is comforting, but I am unsure about that one.

I’ve got 118 students who (I suspect) are praying something very like that over the next 7 days! 🙂

Thanks for this prayer…I shared it with my college age sons.
Good luck to you and pray to your patron for help and when all else fails, pull out the big guns, and ask St.Jude, patron of hopeless cases for intercession.
