Has anyone heard of these guys? They seem overly schismatic and sedevacantist. I know someone who enquired in to joining them and was told his sacraments were invalid and that he’d have to be baptised again?!

I am going to begin discerning process soon to become a Lay Dominican. It is valid.

If you are in the United States, you have to be very careful.

There is a group there who, very unfortunately, obtained the domain name for the third order of Saint Dominic and they run a website but they are part of a schismatic group and they are faithless to the Holy Father, to the Holy See, and to the Dominican’s Master General.

They are easily discovered when you question them about their absolute submission to His Holiness, Pope Francis. To the Master General of the Dominican Order. And by demanding to know which province of the Dominican Order they belong to and who is their Prior Provincial…presently, there are four provinces of Dominicans in the United States. As you discovered, they deny the validity of sacraments and many other things. They are to be avoided.

Among the authentic websites for the Dominican Laity in the United States are:

laydominicans.org/

op.org/en/content/dominican-laity

domlife.org/dominican-family/laity/

An excellent website, run by the Dominicans of Canada, will give you access to authentic Dominican websites around the world.

dominicans.ca/Links/Categories/laity.html

I’m not sure why the link I posted didn’t show. This is the link for the group i am referring to
Yes, that is the group that is not authentic.

I was trying to avoid including their website here but now that it is posted…they are the ones to avoid, if you want something that is authentically Catholic and authentically Dominican, which is to say that is under the Master General in Rome.

Good info to know. Thank you very much. I will pass that on to my friend.

Thank you for this information. I can see how easy it would be to be taken in.

Yeah these guys are based out of my Grandmother’s old parish in Lawrence, MA, Sacred Heart. The Diocese shut it down due to budget cuts but this Sedevacantist group purchased it and reopened it. They present it to the public in a deceptive way as a “traditional” Catholic Church.
