Is anyone watching the Today Show - they’re talking about young, college age women and the “new” fad of “hooking up”.

Ugh. It completely breaks my heart to see these stupid girls boasting and so proud of their exploits.

I’m certainly no saint myself, I’m their ages and I have a colourful past myself. Maybe that’s why it makes me so sad…

😦

I don’t watch Today show but have seen other shows about the ‘hooking up party girls.’ I am amazed they don’t realize how they look…
yep it is sad.

How do you define new?

It has been around for a while though the term may be different.

College students on spring break vacations
Servicemen getting passes in WW2 etc.
The motto of Vegas?

It is horrible but not new.

I’m thinking what might be new is the brazen way girls seem proud of it…

True, but I still say that when I was in college, the girls at spring break were proud of their conquests - or maybe I just knew a shameful bunch?

I’d say we’ve all known a few of those:eek:

Boys have pretty much always sought out one-night stands. Now girls seem to be on a equal footing. When they talk among themselves about possible hook-ups, they sound just like the guys.

I know that. That’s why I put it in quotes. It’s hard being sarcastic over the internet 😉

I agree…it is sad. It makes me want to cry.

I’d say what makes it saddest is the fact that these girls have no idea that there’s another side where they could be respected, loved, and treated with the dignity they deserve. No one probably ever told them that there’s a better way and that they should be proud of their beauty as women of God. I, too, have a colorful past and it took a lot of waking up and people telling me this to realize that I did truly have worth and that I should use my body to glorify God. And it was only then that I met a man who respected, loved, and treated me like I was priceless. And it was through his Christ-like treatment that I saw even more how much I had been used in the past and how much I had used these other men. If only we could spread the good news to everyone! 🙂
