It’s interesting. Since becoming Catholic, my husband and I do a lot of the stuff that you are describing (including the images, photoes, etc. in our home), and our parish offers plenty of opportunities to participate in the various prayers and devotions that you describe. They ring the bells out at noon and 6 for those who pray the Angelus. We have a May Crowning coming up this weekend.
But my husband and I don’t consider ourselves “traditional Catholics” and our parish is definitely not “traditional.” (Remember, we’re the parish that offers the rockin’ Life Teen Mass on Sunday evenings.)
So I guess I don’t consider these things “traditional Catholic life.” I just thought they were regular “Catholic life.” Aren’t they?
Oh, I don’t do ALL of the things that are listed so far in this thread. I don’t do Latin. I respect that it is the Official Language of the Church, and I am grateful that it is not required, as I can’t remember even the simplest phrases, even though I’ve heard them a thousand times in various musical works over the years and I’ve read many of your signatures and read the various responses used in the TLM–you could ask me five minutes after reading it, and I wouldn’t remember it. I just don’t remember foreign languages very well. Oh, well. (I don’t remember song lyrics either, even if I’ve heard the song a hundred times on the radio. No clue. I wonder if it has something to do with playing piano. But I can’t play music from memory, either!)
