The 1-year is much longer than the 12-year and can’t be easily memorized. 1 year prayer takes about 45 minutes to say.
Also, the promises don’t have approval and were likely added much later to the traditional prayer anyway, so just ignore them.
I’ve also noticed that the number of wounds Christ is supposed to have said he received varies slightly depending on what source you read. Doesn’t really matter as it’s still a good prayer.
