In the Twin Cities (Mpls/St. Paul, MN) you will find the two absolute extremes of Catholic parishes, that is if you consider both of them Catholic.

First you have the extremely liberal and homosexuality affirming St. Joan of Arc parish in south Minneapolis, their site: stjoan.com/default2.htm :tsktsk: :crying:

And second you have the extremely orthodox and magisterium affirming St. Agnes parish in St. Paul, their site: stagnes.net/church/Main.do 👍 😃

When you consider Catholic by conviction, or just in name only, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis is sure to have a parish that matches your specific desires on whatever end of the ideological spectrum you reside.:yup:

Notice the amount of masses each has.
I’m beginning to think that the sure sign of a conservative parish is a large amount of Holy Masses.

We have Six on Sundays.

If your looking for a conservative parish, no matter how many Holy Masses it has, be sure it is not St. Joan of Arc (or SJA as it is called). Unless you have a taste for Lay homilists…

For obedience to Rome, I’m for one recommend St. Agnes.😉

LOL! No I’m an “Old Tyme Religion” Catholic!
All I’m saying is that St. Agnes has four masses and St. Joan of Arc has two. Who is concentrating on the Eucharist?

Hey Archbishop Flynn has all the luck. Now he even has a self proclaimed woman deacon, ordained by German self proclaimed women Bishops on a boat in a Canadian River. Give me the middle of that bell curve evry time. 👍

Someone should really inform the Archbishop of St. Paul that St. Joan of Arc’s website contains information supporting the adoption of children by homosexual couples.

Why do Catholic Churches do this? If you don’t want to follow the rules, leave the club.

Obedient to Rome,

Adam

Interesting post.

As a parishoner of Cathedral of St. Paul, I just want to ask all of you to pray for Archbishop Flynn. He does have quite a handful here.

It’s particularly sad to see people and churches under the umbrella of Rome clearly not conforming to the parameters of the Catholic Church. At times, it makes it difficult for faithful Catholics to explain to friends or family not in the Church why things like this happen.

I appeal to your charity and hope that we can all pray for God’s will in these situations.

Thanks

And St. Agnes parish has supplied nearly one-third off all priestly vocations to the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis over the past 35 years.

I think if I lived in South Minneapolis or certain parts of St. Paul, I’d take the bus or drive a lot to go to Mass. 😉

And isn’t Father Altier at St. Agnes?

I did live in Duluth for a while, once upon a long time ago.

Trust me, Archbishop Flynn has been informed, and on numerous occasions. Problem is that he won’t exercise the apostolic authority bestowed on him to correct the situation, in the interest of “pastoral sensitivity”, whatever that means…:hmmm:

SJA has already been cited by Rome for Gay Pride material on its website: cwnews.com/news/viewstory.cfm?recnum=33401
