Have you ever thought about how your attitude affects those around you?

Do you tend to be positive, seeing the good in people and happennings and not let things get you that down?

Do you tend to be negative, interpreting things so that they also show you in the worst light (in many cases non-intended by the other person involved)?

How does this affect others?

Well a positive attitudes builds up others with a positive attitude, as you treat each other with charity and avoid taking offensive in misunderstandings.

And negative attitudes tend to tear each other apart in a spiral of ever deepening negative attitudes.

Now some with a negative attitudes interpret those of having a positive attitude as think they are better than they are or worse.

People with positive attitudes try to build up those with negative attitudes, but it is not always received well.

Thoughts?

Hello Thomas (if I may call you Thomas),

I believe it is important to have a positive attitude. I also believe that this attitude is spiritual and requires God’s grace to be an authentic positive attitude. This requires faith in God. Therefore to build someone’s positive attitude requires prayer and God’s grace.

Prayer is still something I seek to more deeply understand.

Thank You,
Greg

I have found a lot of a positive attitude is having faith and trust in God.

It also involves looking for God in everything that happens and making the best of each situation.

Many with a negative attitude let there fears drive them and this keeps them tense and not at peace.

Many years ago I read Norman Vincent Peale’s ,** “The Power of Positive Thinking”** It made a powerful impact on my having a posivite attitide…
I alway try to see the brighter side of things and try to encourage others. Negative attracts negative and positive the positive… I have seen whole lives turned around by positive encouragement and vica versa.
As Christians, we have been given the greatest example of positive attitudes in Jesus, Mary and the Saints!🙂
