Hello. My intention here is to initiate a thread on the philosophical implications of the Catholic beliefs regarding the Mother (Mary).
For example, what can we say about her Inmaculate Conception, her being a queen, her existence as a human with both a soul and a body in heaven (unlike the other saints), etc.
Thank you and may God bless you all (and everybody else):blessyou:

I’m not a philosopher but here’s my two cents…

The Virgin Mary is a human being. She was faithful to God to the end of her earthly life. At the end of her earthly life she was gloriously assumed bodily into heaven and rewarded (crowned) in proportion to her faith. This infers that all human beings who are faithful to God to the end of their earthly lives will eventually exist glorified bodily in heaven and be rewarded in proportion to their faith.

If this was Mary’s afterlife and if I imitate her faith in this life, then I have a reasonable hope that I will have a similar afterlife.

I don’t have a horse in this race, so to speak, being non-religious. But it always struck me as funny when the fundamental Protestants rail against the Virgin Mary being queen.

(1) The mother of a king is a queen.
(2) Mary is the mother of Jesus.
(3) Jesus is a king.
(C) Mary is a queen.

I don’t think believers disagree with 1, 2, or 3. The conclusion follows necessarily.
