The way this has started is I’m re-reading the deuterocanonical books I never studied as a Pretestant…

Here we go:.

Baruch [3:26 ]"In it were born the giants, renowned at the first, huge in stature, skilled in war.

Then my St Joseph NAB inline commentary says:

" *The giants: Gn 6:1-4 reflects a tradition about giants who existed before the flood; this was developed in the non-canonical Book of Enoch."

So, my son has a copy of the Book of that book I’m currently reading.
However, I thought asking for comments here was a good idea. Anyone have any?

Not sure what you are asking but here is the commentary from Haydock.
26 Giants, before and after the deluge, Genesis vi. Noe[Noah] and Israel were preferred before them
Peace!!!

We use “giant” idiomatically.

Wang Jianlin is a Real Estate Giant.

Andrew Carnegie is a Giant of Industry

Most NFL and NBA players are giants. Sumo Wrestlers, Professional Heavyweight Boxing champs, we could go on and on.

None of us think these men are 10 feet tall.

This references to a group of people who had a strong, intimidating army.

Lots of stuff that’s helpful, and to consider.

As stated, I only got curious because my St Joseph NAB referred to the development being non-canonical in the book of Enoch.
I honestly dont know what I believe answers my questions yet, but thanks to ya all for providing helpful replies!!!

Vivat Jesus!
