Have any of u ever seen this movie? I think it’s a great movie,it’s definately different…as a matter of fact it’s in the cult section at the video store that I rented it from. It has religious aspects to it and the ending blows you away.It might be hard to find since it was made in 1973,it’s a british film.It’s considered a horror movie but it’s scary in a different kind of way.

I remember it as a very good film, and one of the few I find genuinely scary. One of the best endings in the genre, too. Woodward was excellent, as was the rest of the cast. I haven’t seen it in years.

Actually, it is one of my favorites as well. It is scary but not in the sense of the blood and gore horrror films we see today. The most poignant scene in the movie is when Woodward is praying the Psalms as he is being sacrificed in the burning wickerman. Although that part is not technically correct as far a Celtic beliefs - it was criminals that were offered as sacrifice in this manner.
