The wide gate: many *ways* go in thereat?

My knowledge of Scripture and the language of the New Testament is insufficient for me to know whether this is a possible translation of Matthew 7:13-14:

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many [ways] there are that go in thereat.

How narrow is the gate and strait is the way that leadeth to life, and few [ways] there are that find it.

I seem to remember that in Thomas Aquinas’ commentary on this passage, his explication was more along these lines than to say “many people / few people”.

There is only one “way” to enter the narrow gate, but as many different paths to get there or find the “way” as there are people!
