Pope John Paul II’s catechises on Theology of the Body is brilliant! If your wondering what TOB is it is a catechises about the Dignity of the Human Person and our wonderful creation as male and female.

I have studied both TOB and TOB explained and added to it myself for my next book which is about Crusades and TOB as part of the topics covered.

I gave a passionate ten minute lecture on TOB at our Catholic Theological College and have that saved as a MP3 on my website www.godfact.com

I also found that TOB deepens one faith of the Holy Eucharst even more! And brings alive the Scripture of Genesis.

What age groups do you people think TOB should be taught to?

A agree with you 100%, TOB is great stuff. I was interduced to it on a Christopher West audio CD set. Now I want to read the book. I think TOB is appropriate for teens on up. It counteracts the modernism of today in a beautiful way.

Our young adults group (20’s and 30’s–married and unmarried) recently completed an intensive study of Christopher West’s Good News About Sex and Marriage! Everyone participating–all from very different perspectives, with different sensititivies, and widely varying opinions–truly enjoyed this refreshing and “new” look at what our Church has always taught about sexuality and the purposes for the sexes.

One of the most prevelant comments during the study was “Why didn’t anyone tell me this stuff in high school or college?”

This speaks volumes. I think that once an individual is capable of maturely considering the issue of sexuality (post-puberty, that is) that some catechesis on TOB would be in order. There are, of course, gradual stages of learning it that would be appropriate for each age and maturity level. But, one is never too young to know the truth as it pertains to them!

We parents, too, need to do a better job of teaching our youngest children respect and the meaning of true love–the fields need to be prepared!
