I have tried doing a search for previous threads, but have not found anything.
My question: can anyone tell me where (which audience) Pope John Paul II applies his theology of the body to the question of a male-only priesthood? Does he?
I am in a “dialogue” with a Catholic who dissents from the Church’s (pretty clear) teaching that ordination is to be reserved to men. I know all of the pertinent documents and reasoning. When I mentioned the theology of the body (priest = icon of Christ, etc.) he said that the theology of the body could actually provide arguments in FAVOR of women’s ordination. Now, since JP II wrote the theology of the body and ordinatio sacerdotalis, this must be a minsinterpretation of the theology of the body.
Also, does anyone know of any other (on-line) arguments applying theology of the body to the question of male-only priesthood.
Cheers!
