My Grand Mother moved to heaven last night and has booted Mary off her rocker.

I will say a prayer for the repose of the soul of your Grandmother.

God Bless,
Stephen

My mother always loved children. Only had 2 (me and my brother), but often talked about adopting or taking in foster children. Neighborhood kids always gathered at our house. She was from a big family (10 brothers and sisters)–not Catholic, though.

Unfortunately when she was in her 30s, she was stricken with rheumatoid arthritis, which devastated her health and mobility. Even THEN, she talked about wanting more children, and she loved her grandchildren. In the nursing home, she was always there when children came to sing, and she had several pictures on display of her with some of those children.

She finally died at the age of 72.

A few years later, my husband and I became Catholic. Several months after joining the Church, I was in mass, and I had a vision of my mother.

She and many other women were seated on a massive porch along with the Blessed Mother. Jesus was at the top of the porch. All of the women were taking care of babies, holding them on their laps, playing with them, singing to them. My mother died unable to hold anything in her twisted hands, let alone a baby. But she looked up at me and she was happy, holding this little baby and playing with him (it was a boy).

In less than a second, I understood that in heaven, there is a troupe of women that Mother Mary has “recruited” to help her with the task of taking care of babies who were aborted on this earth, or babies who died in the womb (miscarriages), or babies and children who died before their mommies and daddies died. All of these babies and children, through the mercy of Jesus, go to heaven and are cared for by women like my mother, under the direction of Mary.

Perhaps your Grand Mother is there on the porch, too. If not, I know that Jesus and Mary have a very special place reserved for your Grand Mother in heaven, and she is happy doing whatever task that God has given her.

interresting question how old will we be in heaven?

But, is there even time in heaven?

I wonder how many people my grand mother is talking to about praying for her family on earth?

It takes a lot of guts to make a joke like that on a Catholic forum.😉 😃
I’d imagine it depends on the grandmother - I’m almost certain mine is moving and shaking things up in heaven too. Must be the fact that her name is also Mary 😉

She’ll probably get on well with yours, Daniel 😃

I’m about to head off to Mass, I’ll pray for both their souls 👍

I guess Mary would need someone to keep her seat warm when she leaves to do miracles and appear to saints here on earth, huh?😉

So sorry Daniel about your Grandmother.

Hope she doesn’t get too comfortable on her new rocker, cause when my grandma Mary goes (she’s 88), she’s gonna take over!

I can’t wait to go to heaven so that my Grandma Mary can introduce me to her mother, whom she lost at the age of 13. I’ve heard so much about her, that I feel like I already know her.

God’s blessings on all these wonderful women who have guided us this side of eternity.

I’m sorry to hear about it too. But she will get to meet Bishop Sheen at least. Heaven is so much better than this world we are in now.
